Sneakerplay - Where Sneakerheads Meet

Sneakerplay is the beautiful sister, brother and mum of myspace. Built and designed strictly for sneakerheads it is one of the best places to connect, talk about sneakers or show your collections. They have innovative features like a battle system for sneakers and are one of our favorite sites out there.

sneakerplay sneaker community

Some words from the Sneakerplay crew:

Sneakerplay is the culture’s first social network. It is a next-generation social software designed specifically for style conscious and creative individuals—a place where sneaker enthusiasts can connect with friends, meet like minded individuals and express their unique styles.

Members are able to create profiles, showcase their latest kicks in the gallery, read their favorite blogs with SP’s Aggregator and there is also a pretty cool battle feature for the competitive types. As you know the battle is a universal feature within our culture whether it’s in the domains of art (graffiti), music (bboy’ing) or sports. Sneakerplay’s innovative battle system allows you to view, comment and rate ongoing battles.

The site is elegant in its simplicity and design; reminiscent of a fresh clean pair of white kicks! Look out for dope new features and remember Sneakerplay – All Day!!

Old Kickfiend review below…

Kickfiend is one of the freshest and most updated news hubs for sneaker heads on the Internet. Their website is full of news they update every couple of hours on all sorts of sneakers from Jordans, AF1s, Bapestas to custom sneakers. You name it, you will probably find it on Kickfiend. Unlike other sneaker websites they are really entirely about sneakers and do not mix other subjects like streetwear into their selection of news.

kickfiend sneaker blog

Some words from the Kickfiend crew:

Hello, my name is Brian known on message boards as Brain916. A friend of mine named David also known as Isamu decided to start Kick-Fiend. We signed up for a free hosting message board and blog. It started slow, but had a loyal fan base (as we still do now). A lot of great members on the board. But we thought about taking Kick-Fiend to the next step, which would be to buy a domain. So we did and started setting up the blog. We were very excited to get the blog up and running, and you can tell the members were too. Then it was time to make an official Kick-Fiend message board.

We had around 200 members on the board, but sadly we could not transfer that over, and we started over. About 6 months later we have over 2,000 members on the forum and thousands of visits a day on the blog.
Our basic motivation to get Kick-Fiend up was more of giving people a information site on straight shoes. Not 100+ posts on Kaws x bearbick toys, or a new bathing suit, but to give sneaker heads the information he/she needs to make a purchase, or see a new release.

For goals as of right now, we hope to make Kick-Fiend more well known and we have some other things coming up but I can not talk about this right now, but to stay tuned!
At Kick-Fiend.com we usually only write about sneakers, but we will talk and post up sneaker related clothing, or to help a future clothing line become better known. Also people that do custom kicks, let us know we would be more than happy to write about your new artwork.

What makes Kick-Fiend stand out from other sites is that we are about the people. We appreciate everyone that stops by, or makes a post in the message board, and we try and show that as much as possible. People have contacted us through email asking to post their newest customs, and we do this to show them thank you for visiting, we also have a “pickup feature”, we know that people get very excited on their new shoe purchase, so if you join the forum and ask for your new pickup to be on the blog, we will do this. We also update information constantly on the site, more than a lot of sites out there. We know people want the freshest news, so we try to be the first ones with the information.

Also I would like to thank every reader of kick-Fiend and every member of the Kick-Fiend forum. Also a big thanks to business partner David, and also a big thanks to our mods: ATLforces33, Chasmin, tomio, Vanson149, hazii82, SHY5TY, mah_vette2001, MANDINGO and DaBuddhaWitJays. Also a big thanks to our blogger: Chris916, DunksNOnes and xnay.
Stay tuned to Kick-Fiend.com

Hypebeast - Fashion, Sneakers and Culture

Hypebeast is one of THE sneaker blogs on the Internet and has become one of the major sources for daily updated news about sneaker, urban clothing and street culture.

hypebeast sneaker blog

The blog was started in early 2005 by Kevin Ma from Vancouver, Canada. His goal was to create a central place for all sneakerheads and people who are interested in street wear to chat with each other and find all important news on one single website. In March 2005 the site moved from a blogspot domain to their current home at hypebeast.com. Since the early days Hypebeast went through quite a transformation and added a forum with more than 2000 members and individual blogs run by people who are active in the sneaker scene. However, their traditional sneaker and street wear news are still a major element.

Hypebeast has all important news and if you are in a hurry and can’t check your ten favorite sneaker websites, you will probably find 80% of all important news on Hypebeast. Besides Kevin the Hypebeast Crew has grown to more than 10 contributing writers and photographers delivering updates and exclusive content from all over the world.

What you can expect:

  • One of the best selections of daily updated news about sneakers. It’s hard to miss the freshest sneaker news when reading Hypebeast every day.

Hicalorie - Custom Sneakers and Design from England

Hicalorie.com is the online portfolio and shop of the HiCalorieDesign crew. Besides custom sneakers they design toys and illustrations. Superfresh stuff from England.

hicalorie custom sneaker

Some words from the HiCalorieDesign crew:

All of these shoes are designed in extremely limited runs and most are exclusive to the Hicalorie store. Some of them as exclusive as 1off originals, that means the face lickingly good pair you bought from us, that’s right, is the only pair in the world! Doesn’t that just make you feel like you’re the ambrosia pudding of life itself.

These shoes are all fresh out of the box, into the studio, onto a workbench, back into the box and ready to wrap themselves round your unworthy feet. They’re so shiny and new the soles havent even been licked yet.

Hicalorie sneakers are the new black.

Jeff Staples Blog - A Message for Darrin Hudson

The man who is responsible for the Pigeon Dunks writes about sneakers, the business and his life. Jeff Staples blog offers insight into one of the leading minds in this biz. (Darrin Hudson should really google his name to know whats up…)

jeff staples blog

Some words from Jeff Staple:

I think everyone had a “Darrin Hudson” in their lives. Darrin Hudson was in my high school, back in Marlboro, NJ. You know, that person that you had to one-up all the time. Didn’t matter what it was: Gear, hair, grades, sports, whatever…it was ON. Well for Darrin and I…it was kicks. Plain and simple. Oddly enough, in a school with over 1000 kids, me and him were the only 2 really into sneakers back then.

This is my blog dedicated to Darrin. This is to tell Darrin that I’m still out there, and if he wants to battle, here it is son!! Bring it!! I’ve since lost touch with Darrin, but thanks to him, you all get to check out the kicks I have amassed over the years. So it is here, that I will archive every pair of shoes I own.

It’ll include detailed photos, a grading system, a little tidbit behind each one and every single one will be available for purchase. (Simply POST A COMMENT with your offer). Some other little goodies sprinkled throughout also. Even if I updated a different shoe every week, it would take me about 3 years to complete this project. So sit back and enjoy! The project begins January 1st, 2006…

Blue Reverie - Crazy Custom Kicks by Blue

Ever had a pair of kicks with fish in the tongue? REAL FISH! If you want to see what one can make out of a pair of sneakers check Blue Reverie. Some pretty crazy customs over there.

pimp my shoes custom sneakers

Some words from Blue:

Pimp My Shoes is a website run by the artist “Blue” who
specializes in creating unique pairs of customized sneakers. Much of his
work has been displayed throughout numerous sneaker forums and sites as well as events that include “Soled Out Hollywood”, Marc Ecko’s “Getting Up Tour” in Toronto, and Fat Joe’s “International Sneaker Battle” in Edison, NJ. Also keep an eye out for future events and exhibitions along with pairs for sale in several sneaker boutiques.

Unlike other sites, most designs are kept as one-of-a-kinds in order to ensure that the customer is receiving a completely original pair. Each pair is created with the highest of standards and special attention to detail.
You can either purchase an available pair from the online store, or work with the actual artist to develop a pair that you’ve envisioned. With custom sneakers, the possibilites are endless, and you are in no way limited to the selection offered at any sneaker store.

Solebox - One of Germanies Top Sneaker Stores in Berlin

Hikmet the owner of Solebox started his first sneaker shop in 2001 in Berlin Mitte. He was a bit ahead of the time because not many people in good old Germany really understood why he sold “old sneakers”. He sold OG sneaker, deadstock stuff in their original boxes.
